Our Story:

GLTSupplies and Familiar Bite products were founded to solve a major frustration shared by Great Lakes trollers: the time-consuming, inconsistent, and often messy process of brining and cutting whole herring. Traditional whole bait required overnight preparation, precise salt ratios, and manual cutting that often yielded irregular actions in the water. We set out to create the most natural, commercially packaged cut bait on the market. By combining premium Atlantic herring with a scientifically perfected, pre-salt brining process, we introduced a game-changing lineup of pre-cut strips that require absolutely zero prep.
